I checked on Parler again and it's still a crapfest. I am leaning more and more heavily toward killing my account there altogether.

There are a few more people who seem to have been able to log in, but it's mostly the same with few people and the majority of those being the paying, gold badge sort.

What I and others have noticed is:

1. Parler is very concerned with kissing Apple's ass. Screw Android users, it is all about getting Apple's app up and running well, along with keeping Apple happy. (i.e. censorship)

2. The gold badge, paying crowd were on before anyone else and are clearly given priority in other ways, too. They have long been able to spam the feed with repeats of the same dang post. Now the feed is filled almost exclusively with this. Screw peer-to-peer.

3. While no one could begrudge the platform for trying to make money, stay alive, pay bills, and keep services free, there is absolutely a huge focus on money-making and creating paid features, versus getting the basics working right.

Parler took a HUGE turn for the worse and I am not so sure that the former CEO was the bad guy he's been painted to be. He's in - things are okay. He's out ... it's an ass-kissing, money-grubbing, censoring, Fascistbook clone.

So, locals is pretty much it for me. I know I should really have a few more options but the ones I've checked out suck and until I start making videos, there is no real place for me at some of the other popular sites.

Once I do start making videos, Odysee (formerly lbry) will likely be my second home. I know more and more people are going to Rumble but from what I can see, it sucks, too.

Locals and Odysee are also popular choices, and from what I've seen, good choices.

I don't want to be bouncing around or have a dozen+ accounts to maintain and have to find room for on my phone. I want just two or three of the best, that look like maybe they will stick with their no censorship promises.
