There are undoubtedly loons across the political spectrum and they help no one's cause when they spout off their unfounded paranoia as if it is fact.

There are many examples of this, but the most recent is this:

I watched a livestream today of a press conference. It was not livestreamed by media but by a viewer via their cellphone and cellular service provider. It was being sent to Facebook live and from there several YouTubers were also attempting to livestream it.

See any possible issues in all that?

One YouTuber for some reason had snowflakes running across the broadcast, which made the poor audio quality even worse.

But in the live chat comments, multiple people were immediately blaming YouTube censorship. Making all kinds of nutty claims as if they were fact.

As soon as the YouTube host checked the comments and saw a couple of people actually talking sense and telling her to turn off the snowflakes, the sound improved dramatically.

So now, it was not an evil attack from censorship fascists YouTube, although they are in fact responsible for plenty of them. Just not this time.

Not every problem with a YouTube video is them.

Even now, hours later, people watching the video replay are also crying YouTube attack despite the fact it's clear from what the YouTube host says and does, and the accompanying live chat replay that YouTube was not the issue.

This kind of low-information, numbnuts bullshit is everywhere. Some of these people do their own "reporting" via YouTube channels and their independent blogs. They also frequent comment sections.

When propaganda media cannot be trusted, we must turn to people on the ground and each other for the truth. When numbnuts are spouting off conspiracy and paranoia as if it is fact instead of actually getting the facts, it mucks the whole thing up and adds to the misinformation issue we already have via propaganda media.

These loons are not helping anyone.

There are very real, factual, verified things going on that some would say appear to be from some kind of conspiracy theory, paranoid novel, or movie. Yup. That is where we actually are and why, I think, the battle is inherently more difficult. Those who are guilty or simply useful idiots parrot the claims that all of this is a conspiracy theory, etc.

They can then point to the loons in the mix as evidence. Even though that is not how facts and truth work.

One crazy person shouting the world is ending tomorrow does not make a runaway train suddenly not a runaway train.

I do my best to sort facts from fiction and get the truth to you. We must deal in facts and use care if we are to win and to create necessary change.

We must all be careful who we trust and believe.
